Solution

The idea of my solution as follows:

Divided your job into basic works, means the job can be done by a series of works.

All the same type of simple works was done by the same program or batch script.

Use batch script to construct the whole job works.

Example

In any case of Database access job. You use only one program, DBTOOLS, to access any type of DataBase. All you are going to do is to provide a DBTOOLS script file to tell the program how to do, and then submit DBTOOLS to execute the access job.

It means, it's no need to write a program for the all the specifical work. Same type of works has only one PROGRAM. These programs I call it Core Elements.

In this example, if you want the DBTOOLS script file generates on the fly. You need a TEXT TAILOR PROGRAM to construct a script file on the fly. If you want to produce a graphic image follow by DBTOOLS, you need another graphic element. and so on...

I have provided Text, DataBase, Graphic, Decision elements, and also provide a SERVICE SHELL to enable your Program/(Batch script) can be run as a service in WINDOWS platform.

Some of Elements are open source, and here provides you a link that enable you to download the programs.

Why

1:Simple
This a simple solution, It is no need to learn a lot of knowledge for program coding, and only thing you are going to do is use text editor program to edit your script files and batch jobs.

2:Low development and maintenance cost
When you will like to change the job, All you need to do is use text editor program to edit your script files and batch jobs. In case of upgrade the O.S. platform, all you need to do is copy the folder to now O.S. platform, and install all the programs what you have used in you jobs. In some cases, you need to do some setting.
Since almost all the programs provided here are DOS program. It is no need to upgrade and will run in the upgrade O.S. platform properly in almost all the cases. For the worst cases(It never happens yet), just re-compile the programs, and it is no need to change any thing.

3:Long life cycle
All O.S. platform (Include MS-Windows and UNIX) supports DOS program and BATCH script, So all the programs and scripts can be re-use again and again until you do not want it any more. It means all the DOS programs never phase out for a long long time.

* DBTOOLS is a Windows program, The life time of this program could be shorter. Anyway, a alternative cross platform PHP solution provides here. So it is no need to worry about it.
